NHSCT INSPECTION REPORT MAY 2024

Harbour Bears Pre-School were recently inspected by the NHSCT and we would like to share with you some of the comments from our report.

“The quality of care and provision at this setting was to a high standard, a good range of equipment and play materials were available for the children, there was a clear plan to broaden the children’s learning to meet the six area of the pre-school curriculum. Staff demonstrated a sound knowledge base of developmental milestones and additional needs of the children of the age group. It was clear that staff had taken their time to get to know the children, their likes, dislikes and personalities. As such, observations are used to inform monthly planning, which all staff contribute to. This works to create a full learning experience.”

‘Staff were very tuned in to the individual needs of the children and were child-friendly in their interactions, providing the children with support, comfort and affection.’

‘This was a fantastic inspection that evidenced staff have a thorough grasp of the developmental needs of the children in their care.’

‘The playroom is spacious and is set out with a variety of toys and play resources arranged in individual areas of interest including; home corner, craft areas, quiet/sensory area, reading area, floor play, tabletop play; all of which are presented in a manner designed to encourage children’s natural curiosity.’

‘The children demonstrated high levels of involvement in their play, with many observed in deep concentration for prolonged periods.’

‘The atmosphere was warm, welcoming and child-friendly’

‘The setting continues to offer high quality play experiences and valued support to parents. It is clear that staff are committed to ensuring a positive experience for the children in their care.’
